Kids. Together. Nature. Connect.

Group Sessions

Our group nature-based sessions are designed to support social and emotional wellbeing in a safe, welcoming, and relaxed outdoor environment. Through shared experiences in nature, participants can build confidence, develop friendships, and enjoy meaningful time together.

Sessions include a variety of outdoor activities such as walking, games, campfire cooking, creative art, and gardening. Each session also includes a shared lunch, prepared together on the campfire by the group.

Our menus are inspired by cuisines from around the world, giving everyone the opportunity to try new foods, explore different cultures, and enjoy the experience of cooking and eating together outdoors

Developing our nature

Nature and play are two very important experiences for us, especially our children. Nature not only encourages the development of our emotions, social interaction and physical health, it also stimulates our senses allowing us to come into connection with our body, community and our environment.

What we offer

At Changing Leaves we offer the chance for children to discover who they truly are through the use of nature. Our sessions are a journey of self discovery, where we use our senses to enable connection to ourselves, our peers, and our natural environment. Through this connection we start to discover beauty, emotions, compassion and meaning; all of which are vital to emotional regulation and a happy, calm mind and body.

Changing Leaves offers alternative provision to children who can’t access school. We also offer therapeutic intervention to children who suffered trauma, and children who have SEND requirements.

All our sessions are held outdoors, where your child can feel as free as a bird, in a calm environment.

All our sessions are held on a 1:1 basis, so your child gets to build a connection with their mentor, to encourage a safe person.

One-to-One Sessions

Our one-to-one sessions provide personalised support for children and young people through a nurturing, therapeutic, and nature-based approach. As an alternative provision, we offer ecotherapy, horticultural therapy, animal care, and tutoring to support emotional wellbeing, personal development, and learning.

Interventions are delivered in termly blocks, with no limit on how long a child or young person can access support. Each session is tailored to individual needs and interests, with opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities including art, walking, fire lighting, den building, cooking, gardening, and caring for animals.

Our therapeutic approach is guided through three key stages

Stage 1: Connection

Building connection to ourselves, others, and the natural world through sensory experiences and time spent in nature.

Stage 2: Therapeutic Intervention

Exploring emotions, experiences, and behaviours in a safe and supportive environment to help better understand our feelings.

Stage 3: Growth

Developing confidence, resilience, and self-awareness, while learning strategies to support positive growth and wellbeing.
